Pre-Installation Preparation
Ensure the AGV chassis is stationary, level, and powered off. Verify all necessary components are present: sheet metal body panels, mounting brackets, fasteners (bolts, nuts, washers), alignment tools, and appropriate tools (wrenches, torque wrench). Wear cut-resistant gloves due to sharp sheet metal edges. Workspace clearance is essential.
Step 1: Unpack and Inspect Components
Carefully unpack all sheet metal body parts. Thoroughly inspect each panel, bracket, and fastener supplied with your kit for any shipping damage, cracks, or deformations. High-quality kits like BaoXuan AGV bodies often feature pre-drilled holes and precise forming, simplifying alignment.
Step 2: Position Primary Frame Sections
Lift and carefully position the main structural frame sections (e.g., baseplate, side walls) onto the AGV chassis. Align them roughly with the designated mounting points on the chassis frame. Do not tighten fasteners yet; allow for fine adjustment. Temporary clamps can be helpful.
Step 3: Align Precisely
Use precision levels, straight edges, and measuring tapes to ensure perfect squareness and alignment of all major panels relative to the chassis centerline and each other. Step 4: Secure Primary Frame
Once satisfied with alignment, insert and finger-tighten all primary mounting bolts and nuts connecting the body frame sections to the AGV chassis base. Follow the kit’s specified torque sequence and values religiously using a calibrated torque wrench. Overtightening warps metal; undertightening causes vibration failure. Adhesive thread locker may be specified.
Step 5: Attach Secondary Panels and Components
Mount auxiliary panels (front/rear bumpers, covers, access hatches) following the same principle of initial positioning, precise alignment, and then controlled tightening. Step 6: Final Quality Check
Conduct a comprehensive inspection. Verify all fasteners are tightened to specification. Check clearances around wheels, sensors, and moving parts. Ensure no sharp protrusions or pinched cables exist. Confirm the center of gravity remains within AGV operational limits.
